Wimpie Ackermann, our highly skilled cameraman with 15 years of experience in under
water and normal filming will be available at your service, to capture your memorable safari
on video. All video material will be edited by Wimpie himself and sent to you (consult us
about this when booking your safari). He is also qualified as a Director of Photography in his
profession and will be able to give you the quality that you need and deserve.

SOUTH AFRICA

Our Main Camp, BERGHEIM LODGE, is situated in the well-known Limpopo Valley,
approximately 45km outside Lephalale, South Africa. Various plains game concessions
throughout South Africa have been negotiated by VAN NOORDWYK SAFARIS to cover the
wide spectrum of game available for hunting in South Africa. We can accommodate
numerous clients at any one time at the various camps on the concession areas situated in
the most exquisite surroundings there are to offer.

Lephalale area falls under the summer rain region which averages an annual rainfall of 450 –
600mm. During summer the average sunshine duration is 65% and the temperature around
30 degrees centigrade. The sunshine duration throughout the winter mornings averages at
80% while the temperature varies around 20 degrees centigrade. This is a malaria free area.

BERGHEIM LODGE translated from German means, “house in the mountain” and this is
exactly what our guests will experience. Here you will have a beautiful view over the lake
whilst sipping sundowners on the terrace and viewing the game drinking water from the lake.

In South Africa, we hunt all species available and specialize in plains game hunt for people
that have not hunted in Africa before, family hunts, small cat hunts (Caracal, Serval, African
Wild Cat, Civet and Genet Cats) and we cater for the collector who needs the more difficult
species (Vaal Rhebuck, Bush pig, Suni, Blue Duiker). South Africa is the perfect country to
hunt plains game as there is a wide variety to hunt. The trophy quality is excellent and
logistically it is an easy country to get in and out of. Except from the beautiful hunting area
at Bergheim Lodge, we also have concession areas in the other parts of South Africa.

There is a wide range of activities for the non-hunter accompanying the hunter such as
Fishing, Bird Watching, Walking Trails, Day & Night Game Drives, Photography, Tree
Identification, Waterhole Hides and a visit to various National Parks around Southern
Africa can be arranged.

The non-hunter or perhaps the family that wants to experience the journey, can have a
relaxing day in the Spa, join the others on a walking trail, be adventurous and row on the

wide range of plains game species available in Zambia. Our areas in Zambia have huge
herds of Buffalo, which will take your breath away. Our two camps are traditional grass
