ZAMBIA

Climate:
Zambia’s climate is generally sunny and pleasant. Winters are cool to
mild. November to March can be warm to extremely hot ( up to 40°C ).

Hunting Areas: Hunting takes place in the Kafue on the eastern boundary of the
KAFUE NATIONAL PARK.

Clients are accommodated in serviced grass thatched tented camps that provide all
meals and laundry service.

Hunting Season: Hunting season is from 1st of June to mainly the end of October.

Health and Safety: Fully equipped medical kits and telephone or radio
communication are available in case of an emergency. Zambia is a malaria area,
consult your doctor or Outfitter to take the necessary precautions. Always carry
your travel documents, travellers’ cheques and cash on your person or ask the
outfitter to keep it in safe custody.

Travelling, Accommodation and Meals: We will make provision for all
accommodation and travel expenses before and after your safari. Upon your arrival
in Zambia, you will be welcomed by our staff at the nearest port of entry to the
hunting area and transported to the camp/lodge by either air charter or ground
transport. Depending on the required species and hunting areas, you will be based
in a serviced grass thatched lodge or tented camp.

Customs, Visas and Insurance: Customs clearance is operative at your port of
entry in Zambia. Zambia requires a passport valid at least 6 months beyond your
departure date and depending on your country of origin, a visa. Insurance for
personal effects, luggage and trip cancellation as well as medical casavac is strongly
recommended. A visa can be obtained at the airport on arrival. There is also a $20
departure tax when leaving Zambia.

Documentation: Certain species require permits that will be arranged by Van
Noordwyk Safaris on your request by confirmation of your Safari.

Currency and Spending Money: The local currency is the Kwatcha. Traveller’s
cheques and cash are preferred. It is customary to tip staff in recognition of good
service.

Arms and Ammunition: A gun permit is required for Zambia. Once a hunt is
booked we will get all the necessary gun permits and clear your firearms on arrival.
There is a rifle import tax to be paid per rifle as well as taxes on ammunition.

-Comfortable walking shoes, natural fibre socks.
-Long trousers, a tracksuit or sweater and warm weather resistant jacket.

-Step-down converter (220 – 110volt).
-Anti-malaria medication (if applicable), prescription drugs, personal toiletries, sun
block, mosquito repellent.
-Raincoat, gloves.
-Ammo belt.
-Trophy Tags (if preferred personal tags from your shipper or taxidermy)

Packing, Dipping and Shipping of Trophies: An import and export CITES permit
for Appendix I and an export CITES permit for Appendix II animals are required for
each shipment. Field preparation of trophies are done in camp and transported to a
shipping agent designated by the outfitter. Clients will be put in touch with the
shipping agent to discuss their requirements to arrange for the payment of services.
Clients should have sufficient trophy tags (if preferred) and full shipping instructions
handy and should make sure that their skinning instructions are clearly recorded in
the outfitter’s hunting register.

ZIMBABWE

Zimbabwe’s climate is generally sunny and pleasant. Winters are cool to

Hunting Areas: Hunting takes place in and around the world renowned Lake
Kariba, as well as the South Eastern regions of Zimbabwe.
Clients are accommodated in serviced grass thatched tented camps and semi
structured camps, that provide all meals and laundry service.

Hunting Season: Hunting season is from April to November.

Health and Safety: Fully equipped medical kits and telephone or radio
communication are available in case of an emergency. Zimbabwe is a malaria area,
consult your doctor or Outfitter to take the necessary precautions. Always carry
your travel documents, travellers’ cheques and cash on your person or ask the
outfitter to keep it in safe custody.

SOUTH AFRICA

Climate:
South Africa’s climate is generally sunny and pleasant. Winters are cool
and mild, although snowfalls in mountain ranges and sub-zero temperatures are not
uncommon. October to March can be warm to extremely hot (up to 40°C).

Hunting Areas: Hunting takes place on our Lodge at Bergheim, which is situated in
the Limpopo Province. Except from this beautiful hunting area at Bergheim Lodge,
we also have concession areas in the other parts of South Africa, depending on the
required species. Clients are accommodated in serviced luxury camps or lodges that
provide all meals and a daily laundry service.

Hunting Season: The hunting season in South Africa is open all year round, but
hunting can be restricted in certain times of the year due to rainfall seasons of South
Africa.

Health and Safety: Fully equipped medical kits and telephone or radio
communication are available in case of an emergency. Some areas in South Africa
are malaria areas – consult your doctor or Outfitter and take the necessary
precautions. Always carry travel documents, traveller’s cheques and cash on your

Traveller’s cheques and cash are preferred. It is customary to tip staff in recognition
of good service. The government levies are 14% Value Added Tax on all non-export
items, i.e. charters, accommodation, car hire, etc.

Arms and Ammunition: An import/export permit is required for South Africa (SAP
520 form), which is obtainable from the South African Police at customs at your port
of entry. Assistance with permits is available at a nominal fee. Any rifle, shotgun and
ammunition may be imported/exported into South Africa. Semi automatic rifles and
handguns may be imported/exported with special provisions (consult your Outfitter
upon booking of your safari).

The following information will be needed on arrival of your safari, at the
airport, for the issuing of your permit:

-Proof of ownership of your rifle.
-Passport.
-Invitation letter.
-A completed SAP 520.
-Airline ticket for departure date.
-Contract of your safari.
