Wing shooting Bird shooting is available in some of South Africa’s best areas. Guinea fowl, Duck, Geese
and Partridge are available in appropriate areas in season. Doves and Pigeons are available all year round.
In Zambia bird hunting safaris are also available on the compulsory Bird Licence that is paid for by booking your safari in Zambia.
Bow Hunting At Bergheim Lodge we have the most beautiful Bow hides that one can imagine. A true
dream for any Bow hunter. On Plains game a Bow of 60-80 pounds is suggested with good mechanical or fixed broad
heads for soft skin animals, like normal Plains game, shooting 125 and more grains. When
hunting thick skinned animals like Giraffe and the Big game, a minimum Bow of 80 pounds
plus is suggested with only fixed broad heads of 2 or 3 blades and 400 -500 grain arrows.
Hunting Plains game with a Bow in South Africa can be done on a normal basis, if allowed
with special permits, Big game can be hunted as well.
In Zambia and Zimbabwe one can hunt with a Bow, if the necessary permits are organized
before the safari.
